I wish I had a camera

I saw the funniest thing a couple weeks ago. I was driving to work around 9AM one day, traveling the route that I normally go. The road I was on, I had seen some other unusual things in the past. At any rate, I was stopped at a traffic light and just happened to glance out the passenger side window... when I saw a medium size dog, and a couple of small children in the front yard of a house. The dog was "dropping a deuce", while the little boy (about 2 years old) was squatted down with his pants dropped, observing the dog... as to make sure he was doing it right. Meanwhile, the little girl carefully looked on, as if though she was supervising this whole ordeal. Another instance on the same stretch of road... I was heading to Wednesday morning prayer one day; when I was driving by a home that was having its roof redone. I looked up to the second floor and noticed a stack of roofing supplies and an open window. Then, a rather large Rotweiler dog came out the window onto the roof and promptly began relieving himself on the roofing stuff. I can only imagine watching the roofers gather the wet supplies, wondering when it had "rained" that day.

On a more serious note.

I read a little bit of the book of Ecclesiastes the other day. Contrary to what I was expecting, I found that it's very amusing; and more than anything... very true-to-life. Solomon (I think) is hacked off, because life seems to be an endless cycle of the same thing... and he has deemed it all meaningless. I think we all get that way sometimes. We seem to go through life, day to day, doing exactly the same things with no meaning or purpose. That's where our thinking is wrong. We shouldn't look to the "things" we do for purpose or meaning. We should look to God for purpose. It is in Him that we will find true meaning and purpose. In fact, we are made for His purpose. Humans are God's special creation. God gave us dominion over all the animals of the earth. But, He made us for a special purpose---for His purpose. He didn't want the roosters or the monkeys to carry out His plans... He made humans especially for that.

Contemplating Arkansas

It's quite possible that a move to Arkansas is in our future. It's weird that I've been offered to help plant a church. Although, I'm not scared or intimidated by the amount of work that it will take to start this church, I am very frightened about the move itself. I've never lived away from home... everything I've ever known. I feel pretty certain that we're going to end up there. With council from our close friends and family, we'll make the right decision. There are still many unknowns in the equation. I guess we'll see. What's going on today... I have to really work on the Russians Reaching Russians video that I should have had done awhile ago. I've been kinda dragging my feet on it, because I haven't felt good about any of the ideas that I've had for it. Now, I have some pretty solid infomation on the organization and the goals / vision of it. So, I'm feeling more comfortable about it than before. Really, that's about it... I don't think I'll have it done today... but at least I should have a good start on it.

I don't know about this.

So, with it being all the craze... I thought I'd try this "blogging" thing out. My posts will be short and to the point. I'm not long-winded. Case in point.
